Recycling Office Paper

Southland Shedding is now offering paper recycling service in addition to our secure document destruction services. We now have the ability to collect and recycle your non confidential paper. Now is the time we must all stop to access what we can do to slow down the destruction of our planet.

Southland will provide you with a container at little or no charge for your recycling. Please contact our recycling representative to discuss your frequency of pick up and amount of material you anticipate recycling. Below are pictures of the different containers available.

This is our 3 cubic yard container.

This container is on heavy duty wheels and is lockable. We will normally place this container where it is easily picked up by our container truck and swapped out with an empty one. This is great for office buildings or locations in building underground parking areas.

This is our 96-gallon recycle bin.

These containers our great for copy centers, multi individual work areas and other places where medium amounts of paper are being generated. This container is on wheels and easily rolled from area to area to collect from individual work areas. This container will hold the equivalent of 320 lbs or 10 file size boxes of material.

We also have available a smaller 64-gallon container with this same design that will hold approximately 7 boxes of material. This container is great for small businesses or larger firms with several general work areas of multi floors.

The containers are collected and taken back to our facility where they our emptied in to our recycle line to be baled ready for direct shipment to our recycling partners. All material collected is broken down into paper pulp to be manufactured into new products like writing paper, toilet paper, and brown paper towels just to name a few uses for this valuable resource. As individual businesses you can collectively contribute to helping preserve the environment.

The following are benefits of your recycling effort:

  • Saves natural resources. Wood fibers can be recycled 5-7 times; thereby fewer trees are harvested for paper production.
  • Less waste. We can extend the life of our landfills.
  • Less energy usage. Manufacturing using old paper uses 30-55% less energy.
  • Reduction in air pollution by 95% by manufacturers.
  • Establishing a recycle program for your business is a clear demonstration of your environmental and community consciousness. You can be a part of the solution by stepping up to the challenge of recovering paper rather than trashing it.

Q: What can we put in our recycle container?

A: Printed copy paper, envelopes, magazines, catalogs, phone books, junk mail and any other clean paper generated by your office. It is important to keep paper free of contaminants; food, adhesives, plastic, metal and cardboard.
